An extensive dark-ambient album devoted to the theme of subliminal sensual perception and its fictive musical applicaiton. An abstract conception of the confrontation between the surreal and real world (artificial ambient versus realistic industrial sound). The meditative character of the compositions is brightened by discharges of a kind of radioactive irradiation, representing the fleeing moments of understanding.

The Sanskrit word "Antarabhava" means "the intermediate state" and in particular refers to the state between the death and the moment of the next birth. This is the sonic journey of the soul wandering through the nooks of another worlds. The second part describes the six realms which, according to the Buddhist tradition, symbolizes six destructive emotions: ignorance, hatred, enslaving desire, jealousy, pride and greed. Each track is dedicated to the different emotion and all of them sounds like tunes from the outer space.

Each band presents it's own sonic Allegories of Death... meditations on that inevitability we all fear and at the same time are fascinated by. To set the tone Exsanguinate starts with a commanding and urgent track, flush with militaristic undercurrents in it's opening moments. From there the material evolves into something more abstract and steeped in dread with tendrils stretching into elements of clinical drone and throbbing frequencies to a more introspective ambient chaos. [l-i-t-d-n-a] rounds out the disc with their unique blend of deep tones, harsh frequencies, gentle pulses against an almost ambient feedback. Squalls, static, interjecting beats, squirming distortions and vocalizations accentuate an anxious, looming reality. [l-i-t-d-n-a] closes among fluid environmental recordings juxtaposed with clanks and pulse beats, to provide the score for a yet to be discovered altered state, one in which reason is elusive.

The new album FOLKMUSIK is very much a classic Folkstorm album with it's roots firmly placed in the old-school industrial style, but there is a suffocating quality to it that is new! While a lot of the tracks are rythmic, harsh and ugly compositions as you would expect, there are also a few ones which are monotonous monuments of fear, isolation, despair and tension.

Mockingwyrd. Not much is known about him/her/them (?) thus far, except vague credits on a number of Finnish experimental releases (often by other Some Place Else artists, such as Ovro and Niko Skorpio). It is rumoured that Mockingwyrd is also a bass player in several doom & thrash metal, jazz and experimental groups. Shadowy names like Kaaos in Eccentris, Typhon Sleeps Heavily and Rytannia are repeatedly whispered among the gossip. Reportedly a mysterious bass wizard participating in a recent show by dark-ambient-experimental artist Cosine Nomine was also identified as Mockingwyrd.

Sceptics maintain Mockingwyrd is just another pen-name of a Some Place Else-related artist. Some others claim he's an extra-terrestrial entity from Aldebaran and worship him as god of the new aeon. Some Place Else representatives dismiss both of these claims as nonsense, but what do you know? Who do you believe?

Nevertheless, Cracks in the Void is an EP, to our knowledge the debut, by Mockingwyrd. It contains two tracks recorded "in the void", employing a bass guitar with a carefully selected pile of effects. These two tracks create a narrow yet spacious interzone, a one-off meeting point of low-frequency drones and sparse yet delicate melodies. Conceptual album of Shadow Theatre, a fusion of two German acts Flutwacht and Vincenzo Bossi.
